The PS 4-A1001 surge generator is primarily used for cable fault location in low voltage and lighting networks, and it is also used for cable tests in conformity with VDE standard. For the precise prelocation of high impedance faults in conjunction with a TDR the proven prelocation method based on the ART (Arc Reflection Technique) has been integrated. Extensive safety devices are used for protecting the operating personnel and the device optimally. The earth resistance and the voltage-time integral are monitored.
