The HD2003 is guaranteed to function in temperatures as low as –20°C if ice or snow is absent, without any heating circuits for sonic transducers.
Temperature conditions below –20°C, or temperatures around 0°C when snowing or ice possibly forms on the transducers, prevent the HD2003 from functioning correctly, making the use of the heaters option essential.
The heating circuit intervenes at temperatures below +5°C, with a minimum additional power of 4W (with temperature no lower than –10°C), preventing the formation of ice, and ensuring that the HD2003 functions correctly even during sleet or snow.
The defrosting time depends on the quantity of snow that has deposited on the measurement volume which house the ultrasonic sensors.
