- Single-Phase Reclosing
The SEL-351RS Kestrel can control, trip, and reclose as many as four times on single phase. This improves reliability and allows sectionalizing of single-phase lines to keep the power on for more customers.

- Second-Harmonic Blocking
Detect transformer energization with a second-harmonic blocking element. The output from the harmonic detection element blocks selected tripping elements until inrush conditions subside.

- Lightweight and Rugged
One person can easily lift and quickly install this lightweight recloser control. The durable, painted aluminum enclosure will not rust and is rugged enough for line installation. Both enclosure options carry a NEMA 3R rating to ensure reliable performance in all weather conditions.

- IEC 61850 Communications Protocol
Combine IEC 61850 technology, Ethernet network, and the SEL-351RS Kestrel for the fastest overall performance of IEC 61850 relays for substation automation and control. Streamline configuration of IEC 61850-enabled relays with acSELerator Architect SEL-5032 Software.

- Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP)
Simplify wiring and installation by receiving a time signal over existing Ethernet networks. SNTP makes a good backup to more accurate IRIG-B time synchronization. The 5 ms accuracy is ideal for basic time synchronization throughout a substation.

- Built-In IEEE C37.118 Synchrophasors
Monitor distribution and transmission networks to detect a potential cascading voltage collapse before it happens. IEEE C37.118 synchrophasors, at up to 60 messages per second, allow access to system values for wide-area monitoring and control. The IEEE C37.118 standard simplifies communication and data coordination between synchrophasor measurement units.
