The BeQuiet grease noise tester is used to determine the noise behaviour of bearing greases in both SKF laboratories and those of bearing grease suppliers all over the world. This equipment utilizes a pick up placed in contact with the outer ring of a test bearing and electronic equipment then measures the vibration of the rotating bearing.
Taking the noise of an un-greased bearing as a reference, the tested greases can be classified in grease noise classes and their damping characteristics can be determined.
Both the pick up sensors and the electronics of the BeQuiet equipment must be calibrated regularly to give correct test results using the MEA 6A equipment.
