When the threshold is exceeded, a particularly well noticeable visual and acoustic alarm is issued, and an alarm contact (relay) is activated which enables external devices to respond to the alarm.
Note that, when operated in this mode, most of the radiation will enter the 6150AD not in preferential direction onto the small front face, but onto the large top face with the LCD. Specifications for the 6150AD's energy and angular response will therefore be somewhat different in this mode.
Optionally an external probe rather than the 6150AD itself may be used as the detector. For that purpose the Gamma Alarm Station has a probe connector at its side. All probe types except the Teletector Probe 6150AD-t(/H) are supported.
The Gamma Alarm Station includes an internal backup battery (lead accumulator) supplying the device in case of mains failure for at least six days as long as there is no alarm.
Note: The 6150AD is not included in the delivery.
Gamma Alarm Station 859.1
If the AC mains supply fails, an alarm is not indicated by the flashlight, but only by the beeper, since the flashlight consumes much power. A permanent alarm reduces the battery backup time to approximately 20 hours.
Housing: Polystyrene with lockable transparent front door, suited for wall mounting.
Power to be switched by the alarm contact: max. 24 VDC / 0.8 A.
Loudness level of beeper: 87 db(A) in a 1 m distance.
Lead accumulator: 12 V / 1.1 Ah, maintenance-free
Temperature range: 0 to 50 °C.
Dimensions: 278 x 217 x 142.5 mm³.
Weight: ~2.7 kg excluding the 6150AD.
Power supply: 87 to 250 VAC / 50 Hz.
Gamma Alarm Station 859.2
Like 859.1, however with the option to connect the External Loudspeaker 859.2-40, and the flashlight also works while the Gamma Alarm Station runs from its backup battery. A permanent alarm reduces the battery backup time to approximately 2 hours.
